The Family

I believe life is more vibrant with family than without.

my heart Jacob.
Love of my life. Creator of mischief, master of ornery – he’s constantly moving, plotting, scheming and imagining. He can frustrate you and melt you in one moment and just when you think you know what he’s going to do, he changes. Smart, crafty, creative. He speaks his own language and although you may not know what he’s saying, he conveys quite well at all times what he’s feeling. He is my baby and no matter how old he gets, he will always be my baby. He is my heart.

Favorite Food: Peanut Butter Sandwiches
Favorite Drink: Milk
Favorite Song: Kung Fu Fighting
Favorite Show: Sponge Bob Square Pants (known affectionately at our house as Bob-bob)
Favorite Person: Mommy. Always Mommy.

my spiritChristopher.
Or “Ter” to those of us who know him best. He is the most like his father – emotional, reactive, social. He will be the class clown and all the girls will love him because he’s always got a smile, a hug and a joke to make them smile. Yes, his hair sticks up and yes, he’s been missing his teeth for some time, but trust me, it only makes him more adorable. He loves motorcycles and sushi, anything with music in it and honey on all types of cereals and sandwhiches. He is my animal lover. At this point, school is merely a social venue for him, but he is doing well. He was my “pretty baby”, born smaller than the others, but so very perfect. Since the day he was born, people have flocked to admire him. Now, you can’t go in a grocery store peacefully – everyone seems drawn to talk to the child. He is my spirit.

Favorite Food: Mommy’s Chicken Wings
Favorite Drink: Anything Fizzy
Favorite Song: Fat Bottom Girls (Don’t ask. And yes, I realize this makes me a bad mother.)
Favorite Pasttime: iPod listening. And singing to said iPod. Especially during big family get togethers.
Favorite Person: Uncle Mark. Because he has all the cool toys. I mean, really – how am I supposed to compete with guns, fishing tackle, boats, four wheelers and puppies?

my soulColin.
He is the most like me. Intelligent, private, strong, stoic, avid reader and perpetual learner. Somedays I’m amazed how we managed to create a mini-me in this world. He has the same gifts, the same struggles. Except sports – he’s good at any sport, of which I’m not. He must have gotten that from somewhere else. He has a strong desire to learn, explore and excel. Yes, that’s Jupiter you see in his eyes and yes, those eyes will melt some poor girl’s heart someday. Until then, he is my soul.

Favorite Food: Orange Chicken
Favorite Drink: Diet Coke
Favorite Song: Uptown Girl (of course it’s called the “underwear” song in our house)
Favorite Sport: Football. Football. Football. Oh. Did I mention he likes football?
Favorite Person: Daddy. Cause Daddy plays the sports.

The Friends

I believe that family has nothing to do with blood.

Bahram and Nikki Jo
Bahram
My comfort and my safe place. My peace and my hope. My friend. He may be quirky and he may say the wrong things sometimes, but I’ve never met a more giving, more willing, more hardworking man. I truly do not deserve such a gift.

Once a friend, always a friend. Father of my children and the person I can’t and won’t forget. We guide them together and in that, will be joined for a lifetime.

“I believe life is more vibrant with family than without & I believe that family has nothing to do with blood. ”

These quotes are soooooo true. I have a family and I have to admit that I am enjoying every bit of life with them. Cannot imagine a life without a family.

    Good Luck!
